Some people say, “Everything is bigger in Texas” and apparently, that goes for their hearts, too.
Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson gave 11 kids the opportunity of a lifetime: grab ALL the toys they could in 80 seconds (even video game systems).
This is the 8th year that “Andre Claus” has given Houston’s children the chance to truly enjoy Christmas. Johnson got the idea from a conversation with his uncle.
“Me and my uncle were sitting in the house one day,” Johnson said. “And I was like, ‘I want to do something for Christmas.’ And he was just like, ‘Have you ever thought about having kids go through Toys R Us and get what they want?’ He was like, give ’em 80 seconds to run through the store and let ’em just get what they want.’ And I was like, ‘That’s not enough time.” And he was like, ‘They can grab a lot.’”

Year after year, the children show just how much they can grab with this year’s total coming to $16,266.26. Johnson is still amazed at just how many toys end up in the carts in 80 seconds. “I know it’s a lot of fun for them to go out and get what they want. You know, they don’t only think about themselves, they think about their siblings,” Johnson said. Every kid deserves to be happy on Christmas. It’s nice to see that at least one NFL player is committed to bringing happiness to at least a couple of kids.
