Reports broke today that Star Trek alum Nichelle Nichols, who played Lt. Uhura in the long running series, suffered a mild stroke at her home in LA on Wednesday.
Nichols’, who is 82 years old, had her condition reported via a statement from her official Facebook account:

The news comes only 3 months following the untimely death of her co-star, Leonard Nimoy who played Spock in the classic sci-fi series.
