Though the whole cast won’t be revealed until September 2nd, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys has announced his plans to join Dancing with the Stars. I can’t believe it’s season 21, y’all!

To make the news even better, Carter decided to do the DWTS gig based on advice from ‘NSYNC and DWTS alum Joey Fatone. Fatone told him, “‘It’s a great experience, it keeps you in shape and it’ll teach you a lot of stuff.”

Carter reveals he’s a little nervous, as he feels insecure about his dancing (even though he’s done it for years with the Backstreet Boys), but this is a chance to learn more. Carter said, “I hope maybe I can become a better dancer! It’ll be a great experience to learn how to ballroom dance. I have a tendency to get overweight pretty damn fast… so dancing has always kept me slim.”
