Nickelodeon Announces The Television Return Of “The Legend of Korra”

Nickelodeon finally sees sense and moves The Legend of Korra back to TV, with no word on how many episodes are left…

The Legend continues.

After a controversial move to solely air Avatar: The Legend of Korra—the spin off to the highly popular and wholly awesome Avatar: The Last Airbender—to online only, the former has been undone. The Legend of Korra will finish off its fourth season on the Nickelodeon network channel.

They saw sense.

Korra, which like a fine wine has gotten better with age, is half way through its fourth season and the show is growing with its audience, giving fans of the original Avatar Easter eggs to hunt for and allusions to its predecessors that both shock and delight.

The critically acclaimed third season was met with heartbreak as it was pulled off the air mid season and solely shown on the Nick website, but that didn’t deter the fans. Followers of the show went in droves to the website to catch up on the weekly installments of the happenings in Republic city and the Earth Kingdom.

The Last Airbender was, and is, one of the most innovative, clever, emotive and beautifully animated shows to come from the western hemisphere. Its sequel, Legend of Korra, is no different.

For those how you who don’t know much about the show—which I advise you to watch as soon as possible, and you’re welcome—it revolves around a nation where certain people, known as benders, can control one of four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The Avatar is master of all four elements and there is one born to every generation. They must bring harmony to the world.

Trust me, it’s great.

There’s still no word on how many episodes are left, after all…
