Nicki Minaj Drops Lyric Video For “Only”, Apologizes For Nazism

Nicki Minaj premiered the lyric video for “Only”, featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown. She later apologized for alleged Nazism imagery in it.

Nicki Minaj recently pushed back her upcoming studio album, The Pinkprint, to take time and promote her new single, “Only”. The track, featuring Drake, Lil’ Wayne and Chris Brown, got its accompanying lyric video this past weekend.

The accompanying visuals to the track are definitely an interesting creation, with all four of the artists getting animated version. It’s fast-paced and intense to match the track itself, with the lyrics simply appearing back to back as each one drops their verse. The best thing about the promotional clip is that it’s only a lyric video; if that amount of work is put in a lyric video, imagine what the actual music video could end up looking like. Nicki  Minaj definitely means business with this era!

However, the lyric video for “Only” got heavily criticized and caused some controversy, regarding some alleged Nazi-themed imagery. Shortly after, Nicki Minaj took to her profile on Twitter to apologize to anyone who was possibly offended by her piece of work. As she revealed, she was not involved in the creation but knows it was based on Cartoon Network’s Metalocalypse and Sin City. She made sure everyone’s aware that she had no intention to cause that kind of drama, especially with Nazism involved

Take a look at the lyric video below.
