The story of the American outlaws Bonnie & Clyde is being remade once more, this time by A&E in the form of a miniseries. This four-hour, two-part series stars Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger as the legendary criminals.
That’s why A&E released a video of rock band Nico Vega re-interpreting the classic Nancy Sinatra tune “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)”. This song is featured on many promos and trailers for this new series.
You may recognise the song from the opening credits of Kill Bill, and Nico Vega’s rock touch certainly makes it a perfect theme for the Bonnie & Clyde story.
This song was written by Sonny Bono and originally recorded by his then-wife Cher for her second studio album The Sonny Side of Cher in 1966. That same year, Nancy Sinatra made the version most of us are familiar with.
Nico Vega recently completed a tour with Imagine Dragons and are currently recording their new album “Lead to Light”. “Bang Bang” is already available on iTunes.
The second part of the Bonnie & Clyde series airs today on 3 different networks: A&E, History and Lifetime.
