No But Really, Who Is Fancy?

We have to know – which of these 3 people is the mysterious person known as Fancy?

Fancy’s song “Goodbye” has been taking the internet and radio waves by storm, but you may be asking exactly “Who is Fancy?” Typically when a new artist breaks out, we know everything and anything about them. They’re at our fingertips and our disposal, so that we can soak in who they are and become a fan, but that’s not the case with Fancy.

What we do know (thanks Wikipedia!) is that Fancy is backed by Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber’s manager) and Scott Borchetta (founder of Big Machine, Taylor Swift’s label). Most importantly (and confusingly), that Fancy has three possible identities: a Bieber look-alike, a voluptuous black woman, or a man dressed in women’s clothing. All three of these are most likely to start a conversation on identity, whether it’s in regards to professional image, body type, or gender expression.

Whoever they are, they sure are appreciative of their success!

The song has quite a few celebs, like Meghan Trainor, Tori Kelly, and Kacey Musgraves, paying fangirl-homage on the interwebz as well!

Watch the three videos on VEVO and stick with us as the mystery unfolds! Who do you think Fancy is? I’m personally not sold on any one in particular, but I do enjoy this a lot. It’s like we’re the coaches on The Voice! We love the song and we love the voice, but who is the singer?
