We are giddy with excitement!

Why? Because not only is Darren Aronofsky’s Noah looking fantastic—the cast list speaks for itself, seriously—but it is also getting a graphic novel tie-in. Writer Ari Handel and Artist Niko Henrichon are collaborating with the Black Swan director on the project.

The book marks Henrichon’s second attempt at a major comics project since his success with Brian K. Vaughan on the acclaimed Pride of Baghdad.

“It has been a great thrill to see an artist of Niko’s calibre interpret the Noah screenplay through his own vision,” said Aronofsky. “The results are lavish.” It sounds like the Aronofsky is being quite liberal with the adaptation. He continued, “This take on the story is from the original screenplay Ari and I wrote, before we began the long process of shaping the story for the big screen. So it is a slightly different take on the material. This book, not merely a movie companion piece, will hopefully give readers a rare insight into the creative process.”

The Noah graphic novel will be released on March 18, 2014.

The film, starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, and Anthony Hopkins, will release in theatres on March 28, 2014.
