Warner Bros. announced they would be delaying the release of the highly anticipated Batman vs. Superman by 10 months. The original release date was intended to be July 17, 2015, but instead will be in May 2016.
TheWrap reports Warner Bros. chose to push back the release date so that director Zack Snyder and his team will have enough “time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story.”
Fast and Furious star Gal Gadot was recently signed onto the project as Wonder Woman. Late last year Academy Award winning writer Chris Terrio (Argo) was brought on to polish David S. Goyer’s script. There were also reports of B-roll being shot at a junior college football game for the film.
To satisfy fans in summer of 2015, Warner Bros. has decided to push up the release date of an ‘Untitled Peter Pan Project’, set to be directed by Joe Wright. In the press release Warner Bros. stated, “Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers.”
