Nykki dropped her hot debut single, “No Cry”, and honestly, we can’t get enough.

Hailing all the way from the Czech Republic, pop princess, Nykki is busting into the music scene with her debut single, and you are sure to be obsessed. Nykki has already seen quite some success, landing a spot on a tv show when she was younger, as well as gained the likes of Wonderland Magazine with her group Pink Angels.

Venturing out into a solo career of her own, she is surely a force to be reckoned with. Her stunning new video features an electric, up-tempo beat that reminds us as if Ava Max and Kim Petras came together, and created a human.

“the black and white scenes where I’m dancing with a boy represent the ups and downs of a toxic relationship, while the fun and colorful shots with my girls are about me moving on and regaining my own confidence.”, Nykki explains. We caught up with Nykki to find out a little bit more about what influenced this song and the video.

PopWrapped (PW): Who/What would you say influenced the sound of this track and the look of the official music video? 

Nykki (N): I wanted my first single to be something people can dance to. I knew it would be a summer release, so I got inspired by my favorite summer songs. ‘No Cry’ is a strong-minded break-up song. It’s about looking back on a relationship and realizing that it wasn’t as good as you thought it was. I wanted the video to reflect this through dance movements too, there are emotional scenes where I dance with ‘the ex’, then I move on and that is reflected through neon colors and empowering scenes where I dance with ‘my girls’, and I am happy again!

PW: This video is pretty different from what I’ve seen before (which I love). How long did it take you and your team to come up with this concept as well as film it?

N: Thank you so much! We had a few meetings before about the concept and then 3 days of rehearsals. We shot the video in one day. I am so happy about all the positive feedback on the video, as I almost broke my back filming it! 

PW: Where do you hope to see yourself in the next 2-4 years? 

N: I would love to release an album or two haha! I already have enough songs for an album, but not every song you make will make it into the final cut of an album so I’m focusing on writing a lot of music. Hopefully, I’ll be on tour and I will become a successful music artist.

PW: Definitely see big things happening for you! Your music gives us MAJOR Ava Max vibes & honestly, we would love to see a collaboration happen in the future. Who would you say would be your dream collaborations? 

N: Wow thank you so much I truly love her. If I had to pick only one person for a dream collaboration, the first one to pop into my head is Dua Lipa, but I would also love to collaborate with a big DJ, that would be sick!
