October is “National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.” Here at PopWrapped, we would like to do our part to celebrate diversity and bringing attention to this social disease by presenting some of the best content, promoting tolerance, that we can find.
Ms. Sally Field, best known for her roles in such iconic films as “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Steel Magnolias,” and “Norma Rae,” was a recent recipient of the Human Rights Campaign’s Ally for Equality Award this past Saturday in Washington, D.C.
In a poignant acceptance speech, Field candidly spoke about how her youngest son Sam, was different from his two older brothers and how she wholeheartedly supported Sam on his journey to come out.
“Nature made Sam. It wasn’t a choice.” Field goes on to say, “You’ve changed and are changing the lives of little boys and girls who realized, somewhere along the way, they’re just different from their other brothers and sisters. …and so the fuck what.”
