Directioners, you might want to have a seat and brace yourself for an incredibly cute album cover. In the wee hours of the morning, One Direction decided to drop an artistic bomb on us by revealing the cover art for their upcoming Midnight Memories album, featuring our favorite boy band in all their glory (and looking rather trendy, we might add). The project, which features lead single “Best Song Ever,” is set to drop in the U.K. on November 25 and a day later in the U.S.

Also worth noting is the confirmation of the album’s second single, “Story of My Life.” Bandmate Louis Tomlinson took to his personal Twitter account to break the news on Thursday (Oct. 10), attaching an adorable childhood photo, “So our next single is gonna be ‘Story of My Life.’” The single is expected to drop October 28, and the cover contains the words:
“The story of my life I take her home / I drive all night to keep her warm / Is frozen (the story of, the story of)/ The story of my life I give her hope/ I spend her love until she’s broke inside/ The story of my life (the story of).”
Earlier this year, producer Julian Bunetta spoke with MTV News about the album. “They really dictated it. The boys were the ones spearheading it and painting the picture of what they wanted to do and what they wanted it to sound like,” he explained. “I think it’s just kind of showing the fans where they’re at now, getting inside their heads. It’s not changing the formula. It’s just on this album they’ve had a lot of creative control and they’re saying what they want to say and what they’re feeling; what they’re going through and they want to share it with their fans.”
Since making their debut three years ago, Tomlinson told ABC News in August that they are finding more creative freedom as their career continues to blossom. “Nobody expects us to have any control over anything that we do, but actually, it’s the exact opposite,” he said. “The longer that we stay in the band, the more control that we feel like we’re getting over everything. So, you know, it’s very important for us to be over every part of the project, really, because the brand is ‘us’ at the end of the day.”
Liam Payne added, “It’s a completely different scale of life for us. We’re just normal lads trying to find our feet in such an extreme circumstance.”
So, Directioners, what do think about the album cover art? Hit or miss?
