One Last Thing: Lea Michele’s Heartbreaking Glee Memento

Lea Michele tweets heartbreaking photo of herself taking a memento from the Glee set: Finn Hudson’s (played by the late Cory Monteith) football jersey.

Oh, my fellow Gleeks, get ready to be punched right in the feels. As many of you know, the last season of Glee officially wrapped filming over the weekend and the cast and crew were sure to share their final moments with us over Twitter and Instagram. Lea Michele took to Twitter saying:

But nothing could possibly break our hearts more than the photo she posted shortly after midnight on February 22 with the simple caption, “One last thing.”

We see Lea, leaving the set with a very precious souvenir; Finn’s framed football jersey. All of us Gleeks know the story… we understand the power and beauty of this final moment. Cory Monteith, the actor behind Finn, left us all too soon to a drug overdose in July of 2013 and, just as we had begun to heal, we feel the old wound and the ache of his loss yet again. But we must also celebrate Cory and Glee and remember everything they have given us.

So… one last thing: thank you, Lea, for sharing your voice with us for six wonderful years; thank you for sharing your life, your love, your heart and your strength. Thank you for being a bright spot in so many lives all over the world. We wish you nothing but love and luck as you venture forth into this new era of your life and your career.

Your Gleeks will be with you always.
