Britney Spears’ E! special, I Am Britney Jean, premiered on December 22 to less than a million viewers, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Only 706,000 viewers tuned into the two-hour documentary on Sunday night.
It allowed fans an “intimate look at one of the most overexposed yet under-revealed stars of today as she faces one of her biggest challenges ever while finishing her album, shooting videos, doing press—and being a mom”.
The 32-year-old announced earlier this year that she would be headlining her own Las Vegas show starting this month.
The documentary provided some behind-the-scenes of the preparation for that show, including practicing the choreography for her 24-song setlist.
The 90-minute show, “Britney: Piece of Me” debuted at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on December 27, with celebrities like Selena Gomez and Katy Perry among the sold-out crowd supporting Spears on her first night, ABC News reports.
Her deal includes 50 shows at the AXIS Theater in 2014 and 2015.
