Oprah Gets An Apology For Being Racially Profiled Overseas

In this day and age you’d think that we could all just get along and look past things like race, gender, appearances and such but alas, that is once again not the case.

Oprah Winfrey recently appeared on Larry King Now and told some stories of past events that involved her being in racist situations.

She went on to discuss how she was recently on a trip to Zurich, Switzerland when she entered a name brand store to do some shopping. While shopping she saw a bag behind the counter that she wanted to see. Oprah told the clerk which bag and to get it down and the clerk proceeded to tell her no, she could not see that bag because it was way too expensive for her to be able to afford it.

Now, I can’t decide what is more shocking about this story, the fact that such a rude, unwarranted comment was made to someone or the fact that there is one person in the world who doesn’t know who Oprah Winfrey is.

The tourism offices of Switzerland are now reaching out to Oprah via Twitter to apologize by saying, “We are fuming — this person acted terribly wrong. We are sorry this happened to @oprah!”

No word on if Oprah was able to purchase the bag or not.
