‘Orange Is The New Black’ Creator Originally Wanted Katie Holmes To Portray Piper Chapman

In a new interview with E!, Orange is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan revealed who she had in mind for Piper Chapman when she decided to bring the series to life:

Katie Holmes!!

Kohan revealed she was a big fans of Holmes, and had even met with her about the possibility of the role for the Netflix series. Unfortunately, due to timing and scheduling, Holmes couldn’t commit to the role, and it went on to go to Emmy-nominated actress Taylor Schilling.
