All you singletons out there, Orlando Bloom is single (as is Miranda Kerr if anyone is interested). Rejoice in your dreams of dating the uber chic Shakespearean pirate elf. Embrace the fantasy; you never know a date with him could happen.

Apparently, Bloom and Kerr separated several months ago. However, they “only just announced their break-up on Friday (October 25)”. The couple met in 2007. They then married three years later in 2010. In total, they were together for six years and had a son (Flynn) on January 6, 2011.

The break up with mutual, it seems, or at least amicable. “It’s all pretty good and stable. We’re not friends. We’re family,” Bloom told a TMZ photographer. It sounds like things are okay between the two.

As to why the duo broke up, Bloom isn’t sure. He went on to say, “Life is a mystery, you know. It doesn’t always work out the way you want, but it’s all good.”

It is all good for him! Bloom has kept very busy. Starting December 4, 2013, the actor will star as Brian Epkeen in the film Zulu. Furthermore, he will be featured in the last two instalments of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on December 13, 2013 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again in 2014. Currently, you can go see him on Broadway as Romeo in the revival of Romeo and Juliet, but only until November 24, 2013. What a busy man!

The end of a relationship is not the end of a life. For Orlando Bloom that statement seems to sum up his life quite astutely. He is keeping active. He’s part of many shows. As he said to the TMZ photographer, “It’s all good”. What a grand lesson for us to learn from such a man.  What a grand lesson indeed!
