If you’re a fan of cycling, you know that another Lance Armstrong biopic is in the works. Now we have more news! The Paramount project, produced by JJ Abrams, has a new scriptwriter.
Deadline has reported the writer’s identity. D.V. DeVincentis wrote articles that followed Armstrong’s cycling career for over a decade. The New York Times writer has been brought on as the head writer for the movie’s script.
The entire project will be based on Juliet Macur’s book, Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.
This biopic should not be confused with the yet unnamed Studio Canal project based on David Walsh’s book Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong. That film will star Ben Foster.
It should also not be confused for Warner Brothers’ Red Blooded American, staring Bradely Cooper; nor The Armstrong Lie, a documentary on the deceptions of the late Tour de France athlete.
Including this latest development with Paramount, that makes three biopics and a documentary! The Armstrong Lie is already available for viewing—start the marathon now!
According to Deadline, Paramount was the first to lay claim to an Armstrong project, with Studio Canal and Warner Brothers close behind.
All three biopics are projected to be released within the new year.
