Rule Number 1: The Doctor always lies. Or so we can hope…
Although Paul McGann has repeatedly denied rumors of him taking part in Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary special, we can remain optimistic, since he says it’s not impossible he might make an appearance in the future.
Talking with TV site Flicks and the City, the 8th Doctor said “The thing about Doctor Who of course, is that if not now, then maybe some other time. That’s the beauty of it. We can always come back.”
But according to sources, he admitted he was “dismayed” not to be in The Day of the Doctor, since he had “always wanted to be in a 3D something.”
McGann also reiterated that none of the classic Doctors are involved in the special episode.
“There’s no McCoy… there’s no, you know… we’re not in it. Nor are we in the Christmas special let me tell you. I don’t think so anyway! Not unless they are going to shoot it next week […] There’s all kind of rumours and counter-rumours and everything doing the rounds. One gets tired trying to refute things on Twitter and the like. Take it from me, I’m not in it.”
The day is almost upon us… November 23rd, here we come!
