As the seventh installment of the Fast & Furious series is being filmed, actor Paul Walker has said that an eighth film is guaranteed.
Vin Diesel’s action-packed franchise has wowed audiences time and time again with flashy cars, thrilling stunts and a consistently impressive cast. Although little to nothing has been shared about the eighth movie, we know that Walker will once again be playing the role of Brian O’Connor.
Walker spoke with Collider and revealed that there could be an additional two movies after the eighth if they hold their success, which would bring the series to a whopping ten movies.
During the interview he said: “Well, the studio supposedly wants 8, 9 and 10. I’ll be 50. Even if 7 were to [tank], there’s at least an 8. That’s a guarantee.
“The thing that’s pretty crazy is that neither Vin nor I were going back to do the third one. They were going to do a direct-to-video 4. They were going to dispose it and be done with it.”
“But then, Vin was like, ‘No, I’ll come in for a cameo,’ because it wasn’t testing well. He wanted to set up the fourth one and the studio went for it, and we got a second life. It was supposed to be done already.”
The seventh movie from the franchise is being directed by James Wan and will feature the return of Ludacris, Lucas Black, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Dwayne Johnson.
Fast & Furious 7 is due to hit cinemas in July 2014.
