The PGA is speaking out against reports that it suspended pro golfer Dustin Johnson for cocaine use.

Last week, Johnson’s representatives issued a statement that the athlete was taking an immediate leave of absence to “seek professional help for personal challenges.”

Since then, Golf.com published a story claiming that Johnson had been suspended by the PGA for six months after failing a drug test for the third time.

The PGA’s response read:

With regards to media reports that Dustin Johnson has been suspended by the PGA Tour, this is to clarify that Mr. Johnson has taken a voluntary leave of absence and is not under a suspension from the PGA Tour.

Johnson’s leave of absence means the golfer’s 2014 season is now over. Johnson is now out of the PGA Championship and has been removed from the Ryder Cup standings.
