Whovians, look no further! We bring you Doctor Who related goodies!

Peter Capaldi, who checked into his tenure as the timelord (rather abruptly, I might add) during the Christmas special, is a lifelong fan of the show, leaving us all desperate to find out what kind of Doctor he’s going to be. Whilst any new episodes are still months away, Doctor Who and Sherlock writer Mark Gatiss has spoken about Capaldi’s portrayal of the Doctor, saying he is “a more dangerous, more urgent Doctor.”

Gatiss, who is also known for playing Mycroft Holmes in Sherlock, continued, “I saw a little of Peter Capaldi in action and he is wonderful. I think it will be very exciting for everyone.”

“I was very saddened by the departure of Matt Smith. He did a great job, as did David Tennant before him, but Peter has something interesting to bring to the role this time. The series has already turned 8, it is not new anymore, and it’s time to do something more radical. I think it will be fantastic.”

And things on the Whovian front just get more and more interesting. Photos taken during filming of the show in Cardiff are helping fans find out a little more about Season 8, and about the 12th Doctor himself.

Captured this week, the pictures feature (predictably) Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, and Jenna Coleman as current sidekick Clara, but there are a couple of extra treats to give us some clues of what is to come, including a very peculiar looking alien.
