There is no love lost between Piers Morgan and legendary TV actor Kelsey Grammer.
The former America’s Got Talent judge and current host of Piers Morgan Tonight revealed to The Guardian that Dr. Frasier Crane was “astonishingly rude” when he interviewed the actor last year.
Grammer left Morgan’s studio abruptly after the controversial interviewer showed a picture of Grammer’s former wife, Camille.
In his new book, Morgan described the incident as “bizarre” because the duo got along before said interview; but the news anchor thought that Mr. Grammer’s abrupt departure was an “unsettling turn of events.”
“[Kelsey and Camille had] been through a bitter, very public divorce recently, but Kelsey had told our researchers he was quite happy to answer questions about her,” wrote Morgan for his new book: Shooting Straight. “Apparently this generosity didn’t extend to a picture of her.”
In addition to being rude to his staff, Grammer’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield, issued a statement saying “Piers needs to take responsibility for what he did to Kelsey. It’s called accountability.”
Since the incident, Morgan has banned Grammer from appearing on the show in the future.
he Guardian also reported that Morgan had problems dealing with high profile celebrities including Robert De Niro.
