P!nk is Not a Fan of Miley Cyrus’ New Performances

Pink is definitely a performer who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and in a new interview with E!’s Marc Malkin she talked about her thoughts on Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance. She made it very clear that she wasn’t a fan and that she thought Cyrus could do better than what she produced.

“Am I into it? No, I think it’s tacky. She’s really freaking talented, she’s beautiful. She can sing her ass off and to go up there and do that? She’s cheating herself and she’s cheating the rest of us…She can do what she wants. People can like it if they want. I’m not going to buy it. She can do better. I’ve seen her do better.”

While she criticized Miley’s twerk-filled performance, Josh Gad – Pink’s co-star in her movie debut in Thanks for Sharing – said, “[Pink] twerks on set all the time.” When Pink heard this she took humor in the quote and replied:

“I twerk all the time like a mofo. There’s a place for that and it’s not on stage.”

Pink is known for her performances filled with circus like acts while singing. She’s made it a goal to make sure that people who come to see her perform are entertained and that she keeps it classy while she performs

“I’m a performer and I take my craft very, very seriously and I always try to evolve and be better and I never just kind of phone it in, because I believe if people are going to get up and get out of bed and go to work and spend their hard-earned money on me to entertain their family, I’m going to do it well and I’m going to do it interestingly and with class and creativity, I’m not saying I always get there, but that’s where I try to get to.”

Pink looks to be taking her performance talents to another level as she has finished her first film role and is set to make her on screen debut in  Thanks for Sharing this month.

In the film she plays a sex addict who is seeking help in a 12-step program. The film follows three people who are undergoing a 12 step process to cure their sexual addition. The film stars Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Gad.

If you’d like to check out Pink’s at your nearest theatre, you can see it on September 20, 2013.
