PopWrapped took Vegas by storm on Sunday April 3rd for the 51st Annual ACM Awards. The red carpet arrivals were all a buzz about the biggest duet scheduled for the evening with the Queen of Country Dolly Parton and Pop Princess Katy Perry, who has loved and admired Dolly her entire career. Dolly, who just turned 70 in January, is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In June she will embark on a 60 city tour across the U.S. and Canada. With the high profile performance announced weeks in advance, Sunday night’s ACM Awards were all about Dolly and Katy. The Duo performed “Coat of Many Colors,” “Jolene,” and “9 to 5” together and wowed the crowd.
We also got to meet some amazing talent on the rise in country music, including two down home guys from our home state of NC, Scotty McCreery and Chris Lane. Chris Lane is also a fellow Lane Twin from NC; talk about a small world.
Special thanks to Kirt Webster at Webster PR for letting us interview all of his amazing clients on the ACM red carpet. We chatted with the most talked about lady of the evening Dolly Parton, as well as Kayla Adams, LOCASH, and the lovely Erica Nicole.
Dolly Parton’s Coat of many Colors was also awarded the Tex Ritter Award for Excellence that showcases country music in film. We had a great interview with little Alyvia Alyn Lind who played little Dolly in the film.
