Power Ranger Ricardo Medina Jr. Arrested In Sword Attack

NULL

Ricardo Medina Jr., 36, who is best known for his role as the Red Lion Wild Force Ranger in the Power Ranger Wild Force series in 2002 was being held on $1 million dollars bail late Sunday in connection with the stabbing death of Joshua Sutter, also 36, at the apartment they shared in Palmdale, California.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office said that on Saturday, shortly after 4 p.m. local time, Medina and Sutter got into an argument that quickly escalated into a fight. Medina along with his girlfriend went into his bedroom and locked the door.

According to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez, Sutter then forced the bedroom door open. That is when Medina, allegedly, picked up the sword that he kept next to the bedroom door, stabbing Sutter once in the abdomen.

Investigators said that Medina called 911 and waited for responders to arrive. He is due in court in Lancaster, California on Tuesday.

In more recent years, Medina voiced the character of Deker for both the TV series and video game for “Power Rangers Samurai.” He also made appearances on CSI: Miami and ER according to IMDB.com.

Gar Lester, Medina’s agent, said that the allegations are hard to believe. “He’s been my friend and client for 12 years and he’s a great guy,” Lester told the Los Angeles Times. “He’s great to his dog, he’s great to his people. He’s really a super person.”
