May your inner-child squeal with delight! From 1994 to 1997 The Magic School Bus aired on PBS. A total of 52 episodes aired and several books were written about Miss Frizzle and her magnificent bus. While it’s been nearly 20 years since the show has been on the air, it has not been forgotten.

Netflix has ordered a reboot of this classic program. The press release revealed that 26 half-hour episodes have been commissioned. It’s also been renamed as The Magic School Bus 360°. This computer-generated animated program will launch in 2016.

“Parents trust it and kids love it,” Netflix’s head Ted Sarandos explained to the New York Times. He also said it will be “even more relevant and entertaining for today’s kids.” Hopefully the magic will still be in this new show.

What will you expect when watching this program? Ms. Frizzle, her class, and her high-tech bus will be modernized. Furthermore, the press release claims:

Each new episode promises thrilling discoveries, heart-pounding explorations and relatable humor, while encouraging kids to think critically and creatively to answer questions and solve problems. The series also features the latest tech innovations such as robotics, wearables and camera technology to captivate children’s imaginations and motivate their interest in the sciences.

It seems that if this goes well, Netflix and Scholastic will consider other join projects. However, none have been announced. So, we’ll just wait and see.

Are you excited about the reboot? Or are you dreading it? Should this classic cartoon stay as is? Please, sound off below!
