Many people dream of having even a walk on role in their favourite television show. However, not many are offered the chance of a lifetime to actually make a cameo appearance. That is exactly what was offered to President Obama this week.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings was in attendance at a meeting with the President where a group was discussing NSA surveillance, when he made the suggestion to Obama.
Obama jokingly asked Hastings, “I’m just wondering if you bought advance copies of House of Cards?” To which he replied with his offer.

While the president did not accept or deny the offer he did reflect on the fact that Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) was “getting a lot of stuff done” and expressed his desire that “things were that ruthlessly efficient” in real life.
The hit Netflix political drama is set to premiere its second season on February 14, 2014.
