Less than a week after Rizzoli & Isles got renewed for a fifth season, production has been officially put on hold after Lee Thompson Young’s untimely death.
Thompson Young was found dead in his LA home, after taking his own life on Monday (August 19) morning.
The Wrap states it is currently unclear when filming will resume; Janet Tamaro, executive producer from Warner Bros. TV, TNT, and the show itself released a statement expressing how “heartbroken” the cast and crew are, saying Thompson was “truly a member of our family”.
The statement reads
“Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. […] Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and off-screen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace”.
