Rumor has it that Joe Dante’s The Man With Kaleidoscope Eyes has been recast. None other than Quentin Tarantino has landed the role of B film director Roger Corman. Originally given to Colin Firth it will be interesting to see how Tarantino (of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill: Volume 1 fame) will portray this director.
The Man With Kaleidoscope Eyes will chronicle Corman’s experience filming The Trip, which according to the infamous director, “was very controversial but it was the only American picture invited to the Cannes Film Festival that year.”
The director has had a hand in crafting this film. In fact, he is scheduled to make a cameo appearance in the movie.
Little has been said about this upcoming Tarantino film. The release date has not even been announced. However, due to the biopics subject matter, it can be assumed that the actors will portray LSD trips. Surely, there will also be a young Jack Nicholson lookalike because that actor starred in the title role of The Trip.
There are, however, conflicting statements on whether or not Quentin Tarantino will star as Roger Corman. As of September 20th, there was a completely different report pertaining to his role.
“[T]here is absolutely no truth to the stories …that he is going to play Roger Corman,” Dante reportedly stated.
In the coming weeks and months it will be interesting to see how big a role Tarantino will play in The Man With Kaleidoscope Eyes. Will he play the B film director? Will he be a bit player? Or, will he have absolutely no role in this biopic? If indeed Tarantino is slated to play Corman, his tendency to be silly and over-act in any role he’s given could add the perfect touch to The Man With Kaleidoscope Eyes.
Stay tuned to find out!
