Quentin Tarantino is nothing if not controversial. His movies define what it means to push boundaries, and he certainly likes to bring the weird. But this newest revelation may prove to be his biggest shock to date.
In an interview with the French magazine, Les Inrockuptibles (which was translated by The Playlist), Tarantino shared his opinion of the DC superhero, Batman.
Specifically, Tarantino was asked his opinion on the recent casting announcement that Ben Affleck would be the next Batman, “I have to admit that I don’t really have an opinion. Why? Because Batman is not a very interesting character.”
“For any actor. There is simply not much to play. I think Michael Keaton did it the best, and I wish good luck to Ben Affleck. But, you know who would have made a great Batman? Alec Baldwin in the ’80s.”
Tarantino’s opinion of Michael Keaton is a popular one. Others, including George Clooney himself, believe that other actors have not done the part justice. In fact, George was so disappointed with his turn as the Caped Crusader, that he stated that he was the “least qualified” to comment on the scandalous Batfleck announcement.
As we all know, Affleck will see his time in the batcar in the upcoming Superman vs Batman, set to hit theaters globally on July 17, 2015.
