Are you guys ready for holidays? Well get excited because it looks like R. Kelly is back to his baby-making jams for the season of tidings and joy. The hit R&B singer announced this week that he will be releasing a holiday album. Of course an artist must release an album for the holidays – who doesn’t anymore?
The album is to be titled The 12 Nights of Christmas, but even though the album sounds like it has to do with the holidays… it might be just a little bit more than that. There’s nothing quite like the holidays to put you in the… love-making spirit? Right? According to his recent interview with Rap-Up, the new album sounds like it might be heading in the direction of something more following in the prurient area of his most recent release, Black Panties on December 10th. “It’s gonna be a lot of love-making,” Kelly said of the holiday record. “I come with that, bearing gifts.”
12 Nights of Christmas wont be his first venture into holiday music. The multi-talented artist of R&B recently recorded a festive track, “Christmas I’ll Be Steppin,’” for the soundtrack to The Best Man Holiday. The track takes your seasonal/typical winter-wonderland lyrics and mixes in some of R. Kelly’s signatures swag and innuendo. After all, “on this night, we’re celebrating love.” “I can hear the sleigh bells ringing/ I can see couples under the mistletoe / There’s so many happy faces on the dance-floor,” he sings before promising “you’re gonna jingle through the night,” sounds a little promising.
Well I guess if you need a break from the traditional christmas-y music and you too have noticed a palpable drought of Christmas-themed love-making music in your life then you should definitely check out R. Kelly’s newest album, 12 Nights of Christmas scheduled for a 2014 holiday release season.
