Rachel McAdams is currently in talks to join the cast of Passengers.
Passengers is a sci-fi movie about a spacecraft that is transporting thousands of people to a distant planet. Along the journey, something goes wrong and one of the passengers awakens 90 years before he is supposed to and decides that instead of growing old and dying alone that he will wake up another passenger.
The male lead in the movie is being played by Keanu Reeves. Reese Witherspoon was in line to play the female lead but has had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. It appears that
Rachel McAdams will be stepping in to fill the vacant spot on the transport.
Passengers is written by Prometheus writer Jon Spaihts and will be directed by Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire director Brian Kirk.
McAdams can be seen in her latest film, About Time, which is currently playing in the UK and will premiere in the US on November 8.
Reeves will also be hitting the big screen before the year’s end in the film 47 Ronin, where you can catch him wielding a samurai sword. 47 Ronin premieres in the US on December 25 and in the UK on December 26.
