Randy Jackson Officially Departs “American Idol”

Randy Jackson will not return on “American Idol”.

It’s been a long run!

Following Paula Abdul’s split as well as Simon Cowell’s, Randy Jackson was the lone original judge on “American Idol”. He last served as a judge along side Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and current judge Keith Urban.

When producers brought in Harry Connick Jr. and the returning Jennifer Lopez to replace Mariah/Nicki, Randy decided to sit out being a judge and focused on in-house mentor, replacing Jimmy Iovine.

All of that is now finished however, as Randy will NOT be returning to the program in any capacity when the 14 season of Idol kicks off January 14th 2015.

It’s been a long run Randy!!

So long!
