What happens when a rapper and professional fighter walk into a Fatburger establishment? Well, now that you’re actually wondering, a fight ensues!
Early Sunday morning (May 25), TMZ reported multiple sightings of a physical confrontation at the restaurant, with rapper T.I. approaching boxing champion Floyd Mayweather’s table when a supposed fight broke out.
At one point, a video captured Mayweather yelling “Control your bitch!” to the rapper, which was presumably regarding his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle.
Bodyguards and security both stepped in, trying to break up the two before law enforcement arrived. According to multiple videos obtained by TMZ, chairs were thrown, yelling was heard, and unfortunately a bystander was reportedly cut during the altercation but declined treatment.
In a new interview on NecoleBitchie.com Mayweather opened up about the incident, stating that the bad blood began earlier this month when T.I.’s wife posted a picture of the two of them on Instagram, displeasing the rapper.
Mayweather says, “I been knowing Tiny before T.I. I’ve never slept with her, I never kissed her, never touched her in no inappropriate way. Her friend Shekinah wanted to come to the [May 4th] fight, she brought Tiny with her. They came to the fight.
After the fight was over Saturday night, Sunday they came over my mother’s house. My mother had a big, big party for me. They came over and showed love. They came over to my house all cool, all respect. Hang out with The Money Team, my crew. Everybody was cordial. No disrespecting type. After that, I guess she put a picture up on Instagram of her at the fight so I guess he [T.I.] was feeling some type of way.”
He went on to say that when T.I. approached him about the situation, he thought they managed to put it to rest, until this past weekend when Tiny took to Instagram once again, posting a picture of herself with Mayweather’s daughter to celebrate her 14th birthday.
This apparently angered T.I., prompting him to confront the boxer at Fatburger.
Mayweather adds, “Then a couple of words exchange and people got to pushing and a riot kinda broke out. And then a bunch of chaos and that was basically it.”
He wanted to make one thing clear: his apology to Tiny. He explained, “I said something like ‘control your bitch’ and I don’t want to say that about Tiny. So I do apologize to Tiny because she cool people, man. She cool. She never been disrespectful to me.”
Here’s hoping they managed to work it out, but it sounds slightly improbable for now.
