The death of Glee’s Cory Monteith back in 2013 took everyone for a whirlwind. When news broke about his death, loads of fans were heartbroken about the loss of their idol. Cory’s portrayal of Finn Hudson has captured the hearts of everyone and will be remembered forever. Gleeks have expressed that Cory has and will always have a special place in their hearts. Here is what four Gleeks have to say about what Cory Monteith has meant to them:

Glee first came on when I was in the fifth grade, I’m going to be starting my Junior year of high school this upcoming year. To say I grew up with Cory is an understatement, he became a part of my life. Every Tuesday or Thursday I would come home from school excited to see him on my television that night. Even now that he is gone, I will always have fond memories of him because he helped me in my growing up and helped me become who I am today.

To me Cory meant joy, his smile could light up the room. You couldn’t be sad if you were looking at him or watching interviews. He was such a light in so many people’s lives, mine included. Gosh I miss him so much. 🙁

-Anna, Florida

Its been one year since Cory passed away. Cory meant a lot to me because he showed that if you are going through a whole something that you need to make yourself happy no matter what happens. He was someone that was strong and caring and loved us all. He is missed and will always be missed.

-Jessie, North Carolina

It’s been a year since Cory passed away and trust me it has been one long year. Cory was the most kind hearted and uplifting person there was. He was like the big brother to all of us. He was a light to everyone he came in contact with and his smile was like sunshine. He made me smile every week that I turned the television on. He was and will always be Finn Hudson to me. I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him on Glee and loved his awkward dancing. He will always be our quarterback and the thunder in the sky. He will always be missed. He was and will always be our tall, awkward, Canadian, actor, drummer person.

-Brooke, Benton, Kentucky

Cory meant quite a lot to me, as well. As Finn Hudson he showed me that anything is possible as long as you fight for what you believe is right. Just like his character Finn, Cory was the most kind-hearted person I have ever seen. He was always so giving to others and charities. Cory was nothing but kind to his fans and willing to stop and talk and take pictures, a quality that is few and far between with actors these days.

He was one of the most caring, strong and loyal people. He treated all of his fans like family and everyday he is missed terribly. Cory will always be our Finn Hudson and someone who is always in our hearts. I know when ever there is thunder brewing I look up to the sky and know that Cory is just playing his drums for us and looking down on all his fans.
