With a background that includes training as both an actor and a dancer, Regulus Red has long since been a lover of the arts and the power of artistic expression. In February, he decided to channel that love into a third art form, music, and after his debut single “Ghoster” quickly racked up over 40,000+ streams, he’s ready to wow the world again, this time with his foot-stomping pop track “High Price”, a teaser of what to expect from his debut EP due out later in the year.
Describing himself as someone who “writes music from his own perspective and channels it through his musical inspirations”, which include Lorde, P!nk, Troye Sivan and Lady Gaga, Regulus has already been praised and featured by the likes of Vents, Wonderland Magazine and Fortitude while on his mission to spread the love of the LGBT community. Backed by the LGBT community, he’s an artist not afraid to be himself, embodying equal measures of femininity and masculinity and writing and expressing what feels both right and true to him and his experiences. He’s a firm believer in self-worth and that each and every one of us on this Earth are all equal in every way.
His latest single “High Price”, the video for which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, he says is about: “fighting against your nemesis, never backing down and enjoying life in the battle of life. It’s knowing what you’re worth and screaming it.” Asked about the video, he goes on to add: “The video depicts that being a man can also mean glamourous, where sexy takes on a new perspective! I wanted to start tackling how a guy is seen by society and how I want guys to be seen from now on.”
