Hit Musical ‘Rent’ Returns To NYC For Limited Run

To celebrate 12 years on Broadway, Jonathan Larsons hit musical Rent is returning home to New York City for a limited run this fall.

Nearly twenty years ago, Jonathan Larson debuted his masterpiece musical, Rent, in the city it’s based upon, New York.

The critically-acclaimed production ran 12 years on Broadway with over 5,000 performances. It has toured worldwide and even spawned a movie rendition of the production.

Now, to celebrate, the musical will be returning “home” to New York in September for a limited run.

Performances will be held at Long Island City’s Secret Theatre beginning Sept. 23  through 26 at 8 PM, with matinee performances Sept. 26 at 4 PM and Sept. 27 at 3 PM.

The cast features Bernard Holcomb as Collins, Mia Johnson as Joanne, Lindsay Lavin as Maureen, Nina Negron as Mimi,
André Revels as Benny, Dan Rosenbaum as Roger,
Daniel Clayton Smith as Mark, and
Anthony Wright as Angel. It’s directed by Nick Brennan ,with musical direction by Andy Peterson and choreography by John de los Santos.

Rent is produced by Christina Pezzello
and 5th Floor Theatre Company’s Corey Chambliss, Michelle Israel, Natalie Rohr, and Michael Sancilio.

If you haven’t found the time to check out this incredibly powerful musical about life, love, and acceptance touching on issues we still face today as a culture, I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
