With a Grammy award, and collaborations with MAC Cosmetics and River Island, it’s been a pretty good year for Rihanna. Adding to that is her new standing as one of only three acts to have gotten a number one single each year for seven consecutive years in the British single charts.
The other two acts? Elvis Presley and The Beatles.
The seventh number one single is “The Monster” from Eminem’s newest studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, released November 5th. The album is set to beat out Drake’s Nothing Was the Same as the second highest album sales in a week.
Rihanna has previously collaborated with Eminem on the 2010 song “Love the Way You Lie,” which was the third highest selling song in the US and the top selling song in the UK that year.
Other number one singles of hers include “Diamonds” in 2012, “We Found Love” in 2011, “What’s My Name” in 2010, “Run This Town” in 2009, “Take A Bow” in 2008 and “Umbrella” in 2007.
Continuing to make chart history, Rihanna shows that she’s here to stay and make waves in the music industry.
