Hold onto your hats, another Amell is joining the DC comic family!
Robbie Amell (best known for his role in the CW’s show The Tomorrow People and cousin to Arrow’s leading man Stephen Amell) will be joining the cast of The Flash as Ronnie Raymond or to comic book lovers as Firestorm.
Amell’s character of Ronnie Raymond is described as a maintenance worker at STAR Labs who is also the Fiance to one Dr. Caitlin Snow (As played by Danielle Panabaker on the show).
Greg Berlanti executive producer of The Flash stated upon Amell’s casting that, “Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting. We can’t wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out.”
“I’m so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on The Flash,” the actor added in a statement. “Being brought into the DC Universe is a dream, I can’t wait to get started!”
Amell will make his debut in the third episode of The Flash. The show premieres on October 7th at 8PM on the CW Network.
