Swiss tennis champion, Roger Federer, and his wife, Mirka, said hello to beautiful twin boys, Leo and Lenny, on Tuesday! The couple is excited to add to their family, and introduce their twin girls, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, to their new baby brothers.
“Mirka and I are so incredibly happy to share that Leo and Lenny were born this evening! #TwinsAgain #Miracle,” tweeted Federer, on May 7. The tweet received a great response on Twitter from a host of celebrities.
British tennis reporter-writer, Mike Dickson, tweeted, “Mr. and Mrs. Federer are now parents of twin boys and girls, some uplifting news in tennis. Roger doesn’t do anything by half.”
Indeed, he doesn’t!
As much as tennis enthusiasts worldwide are delighted by the news, this raises speculation on whether the 17 time Grand Slam winner would withdraw from the upcoming Grand Slam, the French Open. He had announced earlier this week that he would be withdrawing from the Madrid Open, largely disappointing fans.
“I’ve decided to withdraw from Madrid to be with my wife Mirka during these next few exciting weeks for our family,” Federer posted to his website. “I apologize to my fans and hope to be back in Madrid next year. I’ll be training near my home, and am excited to rejoin the Tour soon!”
However, according to the World No. 4’s agent, we have no reason to worry. Roger is keen on playing at Roland Garros. I, for one, can hardly wait! What about you?
