RuPaul’s Drag Race Welcomes John Waters!!

Screen legend John Waters joins “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as guest judge alongside pop star Demi Lovato!

Okay, so I’m a tad excited for this episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”.

IT’S SCREEN LEGEND JOHN WATERS ON THE JUDGING PANEL!!!!

And pop star Demi Lovato…..but seriously?

JOHN. WATERS.

We’re down to the final 7 queens (again) as Pearl, Kennedy Davenport, Violet Chachki, Miss Fame, Ginger Minj, Katya and the newly returned Trixie Mattel continued on in their quest to become America’s next drag superstar.

The episode kicked off with the ladies being informed that the mini-challenge was the FAN FAVORITE…..

After some crazy zingers (and even Pearly jokingly taking aim at Ru!!!) our beloved hostess named Trixie as the winner. Now yours truly?

Pearl was HILARICAL (forever stealing Tamar’s brilliant word) while Katya delivered as usual. Was Trixie funny? Sure…..

It wasn’t the FUNNIEST though.

Onto the main challenge!!

The queens would be performing in groups, musical numbers taken from scenes of classic John Waters films including “Pink Flamingos”.

The teams were:

Katya/Kennedy, Trixie/Ginger, Pearl/Violet/Miss Fame.

The trio group got off to a wrong start as Fame immediately tangled with her teammates, calling Pearl and Violet out on seemingly everything. While I’ve really loved Fame’s runway looks throughout the competition, the skills otherwise have been very lackluster and tonight may be the end.

Especially after they filmed the ACTUAL scene!!

The groups then filmed their scene in front of judge Michelle Visage, composer Lucian Piane, and keyboardist Our Lady J. Each group had problems:

– Kennedy never really went to the place Michelle and the others wanted her to go

– Ginger and Trixie weren’t giving the energy that was expected

– And our trio?

Thank you Bianca Del Rio.

When it came to the runway presentations, Ru gave the order of ugliest dress EVER…

Would Fame be able to dirty it up?

The ladies put their best ugly forward for the most part, but Fame was once again painted to near perfection. Was the dress hideous? Sure. But the display didn’t really work in her favor.

The displays of their scenes was up before the critiques yours truly has the results:

Katya/Kennedy – Great stuff from both the ladies, but Katya truly brought it home.

Ginger/Trixie – SO DAMN GOOD. However, it felt like Trixie was coasting through while Ginger owned every delivery of the line “EGGS”

Miss Fame/Pearl/Violet – Not as bad as I thought it would have been, but the weakest of the three.

The judges then laid on their critiques, and from pure speculation it appeared that Pearl and Fame were headed for the dreaded lip sync for your life.

The winner of the challenge was revealed to be  Ginger Minj, and it’s quite the comeback after being in the bottom last week.

The bottom two were revealed to be Miss Fame and Pearl and they would lip sync to “Really Don’t Care” by guest judge Demi Lovato.

The lip sync itself was a tad…….

Okay listen.

It was horrible, but Ru decided that Pearl sucked less than Fame and she was saved from elimination.

Miss Fame said goodbye, and it’s a real shame she never captured the energy that all of us wanted from her. The look never matched.

We’re down to the TOP 6!!!!

Who are YOU rooting for???
