It’s the New York City New Year’s Eve show that people around the world tune into every year. Now Ryan Seacrest will be helping us welcome in the new year for a number of years to come.

Variety reported yesterday (October 23) that Seacrest has extended his deal hosting and executive producing ABC’s new year special, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in a multi-year pact.

Seacrest began his involvement in the special in 2005. With last year’s passing of Dick Clark, Seacrest became the sole host. Speaking about the deal, Seacrest said, “Allen and the DCP team, as well as everyone at ABC are my valued partners in carrying Dick’s vision forward.”

He added, “I’m humbled by their continued faith, and excited to work together to create new traditions and fun moments on the show that only live television can deliver.”

Dick Clark Productions CEO Allen Shapiro, remarked, “Ryan and I started this partnership together in 2005.  He has been a key factor in the extended and expanded success of the show. It’s very difficult to take over a franchise created by an icon and grow it. Ryan has done just that.”
