Salma Hayek is fulfilling a passion by producing and voicing the animated feature, The Prophet.
The Prophet is based on the iconic book, of the same name, by Khalil Gibran that was published in 1923. Roger Allers has written the script and is set to direct the film. The book is one of the biggest sellers in history.
Roger Allers has many animated features under his belt, which include The Lion King, Open Season, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.
The film has lined up an impressive cast to voice the characters. Liam Neeson, Salma Hayek, John Krasinski, Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon), Alfred Molina (Spiderman 2) and Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) are all set to provide their voices.
Allers will be getting help from directors from all around the world. They will be lending their hands to direct the many chapters of Girban’s essays.
The Prophet is scheduled to be released sometime in 2014.
