Samsung have unveiled their new “rounded” smart phone.
Named Samsung Galaxy Round, it is the world fist smart phone with a curved display and also uses Samsung’s flexible screen technology but, unfortunately, the phone itself won’t bend.
The smart phone comes with a 13-megapixel camera and a 2 mega-pixel camera at the front. The phone also has a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and a 2800mAh battery. The screen for the Samsung Round is the same size as the Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3.
At the minute the phone is only available in Korea and costs 1,089,000 won, or $1,013 (£623) according to ABC News. Samsung has not announced if or when the handsets will be available in other countries.
The news came shortly after LG announced that they are also developing a curved smart phone, called LG Z. Digital Spy also reported that LG is producing curved batteries for use in a variety of tech products. LG’s phone will have a 6-inch display made of “bendy plastic substrates, rather than glass, and the panel can be attached to any curved device.”
Would you pay the hefty price for this phone?
