Samuel L. Jackson Joins the Cast of Stephen King’s CELL
Looks like John Cusack has a new “CELL” mate! Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to the adaptation of Stephen King’s apocalyptic thriller, directed by Tod “Kip” Williams. Originally published in 2006, the King’s book focuses on a New England artist who attempts to reunite with his son while the world is ending.
Set to begin shooting in January, Jackson will play the role of Tom McCourt, a former soldier and engineer. With Cusack’s character Clay Riddell, the two escape from Boston after cell phones begin spreading a deadly virus. The phone-delivered signal turns all humans into mindless, rampaging animals.
But hey, if the end of the world did go down at the hands of murderous cell phones, we know we’d want Samuel L. Jackson by our side, too. Way to go, John Cusack. You nailed it.
