Say Ello To The New Anti-Facebook Social Network

Say ‘Ello’ to the newest in social media. A mixture of the best networks out there and completely ad-free.

What?! There’s a new social network that doesn’t bombard me with ads? Sign me up!

Say hello to Ello. The Budnitz founded social network that launched about six weeks ago and pitches itself as an alternative to the world’s largest social network. What makes it better? It doesn’t have advertising.

Ello tells us what we pretty much already know and that is, “Your social network is owned by advertisers,” adding that every post, friend and link is tracked meticulously by competing social networks, and all of that data is used to help advertisers send you ads. “You are the product that’s bought and sold.”

Ello is becoming very popular and has received more than 35,000 people asking to sign up per hour. This, of course, can be explained in two ways. Ello is something new, and that alone is enough to attract many tech enthusiasts. But Ello is also making waves after a tumultuous summer for Facebook.

Ellos seems to be a mix of all of the popular social networks, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and more. What makes the new site even cooler is that it is invite only!
