Ever see that episode of The Big Bang Theory when Raj falls in love with Siri? Spike Jonze’s latest film, Her, that’s sort of the case.
Joaquin Phoenix plays a lonely writer who falls in love with an operating system like Siri. The voice of said system, was originally recorded by Samantha Morton. After having finished all filming and recording, Jonze decided the replace her with Scarlett Johansson.
“Samantha was with us on set and was amazing. It was only in post production, when we started editing, that we realized that what the character/movie needed as different from what Samantha and I had created together. So we recast and since then, Scarlett has taken over that role. I love Samantha. I’ve been friends with her forever,” Jonze told Vulture.Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.
Her is due out in theaters on November 20, 2013.
