This week on Schitt’s Creek it’s time for David and Patrick’s joint bachelor party. As maid of honour, Stevie prepared an evening of exciting events. David wanted chic and elegant (and a Tahitian dolphin cruise) so Stevie arranged appetizers and cocktails at the Wobbly Elm. Patrick only wanted one thing: to do an escape room.
The Roses, Stevie, Patrick arrive at the escape room for Patrick’s part of the evening but no one really wants to be there. Everyone’s a little preoccupied with other things. Johnny is expecting a call from his former assistant about a meeting about an investor for the Rosebud Motel franchise. Too bad Johnny left his phone in the box at the reception desk. Alexis is distraught about her dead succulent from Ted, the last thing from their relationship, and trying to get her business off the ground but hey, at least she’s out of her sweatpants. Moira’s worried about her career since she just did a couple of terrible radio ads for Larry Air. But Patrick is thrilled and excited to play the games.
The family works their way through the Galapagos themed room. Alexis is furious about the theme and takes it as a sign that she should have gone with Ted. Johnny reveals his news about the phone call to the family when he hears his phone ring from inside the room and that gets everyone moving a lot faster. Turns out, Alexis is a puzzle whiz. Apparently making out in Stavros’ parents’ aviary, weekends with Tom Hardy in England, and seventh-grade tattoos of Egyptian symbols are useful to solve escape room puzzles. Alexis solves all the puzzles, finds the key, and sets them free.
Once Johnny has his phone back, he sees there are four voicemails, including one from Mike Morrison, the potential investor. Mike loved Johnny’s pitch and invites him out to New York for a meeting. Everyone is so excited. This is the best news the Roses have heard in years.
The Bachelor Party continues at the bar. Alexis talks to David about her plans for the future wondering if the succulent died because it outgrew its tiny pot. Maybe she needs a bigger pot to grow in a.k.a. Alexis wants to be somewhere that’s not Schitt’s Creek to live up to her potential. The look on David’s face is absolutely heartbreaking. Moira gives one last toast to Johnny’s good news. David just wants to get on with the bachelor party, despite the unapproved photos.
