SDCC’s ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Trailer Gives Us The Batman We All Want

Watch the hilarious trailer for the upcoming LEGO Batman movie that dropped at SDCC. It’s Batman and Robin like we’ve never seen!

For anyone who criticized Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice for being too dark and dry, then get a load of this: fans of the 2014 animated film The LEGO Movie will recall that its Batman was humorous and sassy — quite a difference from the live action Batman that we’ve seen in the recent years — so it is no surprise that the standout character LEGO Batman has gotten his own solo movie. The trailer for the upcoming 2017 film premiered during the Warner Bros panel this past Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con and hit the internet shortly after.

Arrested Development star Will Arnett returns to lend a raspy and comical voice to the star vigilante, and the movie also features the voices of Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, and Daredevil‘s Rosario Dawson as Batgirl.

Not to compete with Nolan’s Batman trilogy from a few years ago, The LEGO Batman Movie is going back to the classic Batman story with Robin as Batman’s young and orphaned protégé, and this only adds to the laughs! No one should be complaining about the darkness of Batman with this movie! It is a different Batman than we are used to, but it is a Batman that we want.

Check out the trailer here:

As seen in the trailer, the Justice League will be making an appearance. Several of its members were in the original LEGO Movie, but this movie is set to air before the live action Justice League film, whose trailer also premiered at SDCC.

The LEGO Batman Movie‘s light and comical style will surely appeal to longtime Batman fans and/or LEGO fans of all ages. DC’s movies have not been quite this funny, but, from the looks of this trailer, it seems to be working out!

The LEGO Batman Movie is set to be released February 10, 2017.
